Edilfar Rent finally offers in its fleet one of the latest additions to the Mercedes brand, presented last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which for all intents and purposes is a rarity in today’s automotive scene: the GLE 350 4MATIC plug-in.

Major powertrain, all-wheel drive, and low fuel consumption. We are looking at one of the company’s largest SUVs, which promises to combine aesthetics with important fuel consumption and engine performance.

At first glance, the SUV already presents itself as a car with balanced proportions, which in 4.9 meters in length hints at a not inconsiderable comfort for passengers, already peekable from the outside: elegance and luxury in the interior result enclosed by soft but aggressive lines, from the headlights cut almost “frowning,” to the area where the very compact battery charging socket is located.

The trunk has standard measurements, 490 liters that can become up to 1,915, to meet all the needs of the case.

Inside, the interior fulfills the promise it had on the outside, showing an essential but complete and modern line, consisting of a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and MBUX of the latest generation. The dashboard is presented with a widescreen display consisting of a central touchscreen multimedia display and instrument cluster display, and for any perplexity the VOICETRONIC will come to our aid.

The special component of this SUV, in addition to the already well-known premium level of the Mercedes interior, is the engine. The plug-in hybrid GLE is also available as a diesel; plug-in hybrid versions are equipped with a larger battery pack, providing an electric range of up to 100 km, keeping CO2 emissions low locally in the city and on short trips, while benefiting from the independence and range of the combustion engine on long journeys.

The SUV’s all-wheel drive marries a four-cylinder two-thousand diesel engine with 194 hp and 400 Nm of torque, alongside a plug-in rechargeable electric unit, from 136 to 440 Nm, for a system output of 320 hp and 700 Nm of torque. The electric motor, integrated with the 9-speed automatic transmission, is powered by lithium-ion batteries of 31.2 kWh capacity (very generous for a plug-in hybrid) housed at the rear, with an axle modified to accommodate them.

When you combine the action of the two motors and the GLE reaches 100 km in 6.8 seconds, you will need to rethink that you are driving an SUV.

In short, massive but dynamic. What about charging times? At the fast-charging stations, the car will recharge in 20 minutes with 400 V supply voltage and 300 A minimum current.

The travel experience enjoys adaptive air suspension that will make small uneven stretches in the routes almost imperceptible while remaining unobtrusive and low noise.

The New GLE is closer than you think. Come to any of our offices to test drive and Mercedes cars, which have always been a symbol of exclusivity and luxury.
